DC VS RR: Remotes watching that match, bottles smashed: Ricky Ponting

High drama is known to have taken place during the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals as part of the first half of the IPL 2022 season. How the Delhi captain and his teammates acted in the final over to crack the huge target set by Rajasthan in that match sparked a furor. Batting first, RR .. Jose Butler hit a devastating century (116 off 65 balls; 9 fours, 9 sixes) to record a massive 222, while DC was 15 runs short of the target in the chase.

While Delhi needed 36 runs in the final over to chase down a huge target, at that stage Rowman Powell broke once and turned the first three balls into sixes (McCoy bowling) to turn the match towards DC. The controversy erupted when field umpire Nitin Menon declared no-ball after McCoy's fourth ball went higher than the waist. Impatient with the umpire's decision, the DC captain gestured for his players to withdraw from the dugout. Many people make the mistake of behaving like this in the case of no-ball.

However, the Delhi head coach, who watched the whole high drama at the end of the match on TV, reacted fresh. Ponting, who has been in the quarantine for the past few days due to a corona injury, said he too was impatient in the final over of the match. At the time he said he could not control his anger and smashed 3 to 4 TV remotes. Unable to control his frustration, he smashed the bottles on the opposite side of the wall. He noted that his absence from the team at such a crucial time was heartbreaking. However, he said he coordinated the team through text messages.
