Indigo Record‌ ..Recognized as the first company to use Gagan‌

Indigo set a record as the first company to use the domestically made Gagan‌ system for air travel. Pilots have been operating aircraft based on the navigation system developed overseas since the inception of air travel.

The Center has embarked on its own navigation system as part of Makeen India. With this, the Airports Authority of India and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) have jointly developed the GAGAN (GPS aided geo augmented navigation) system.

Indigo flew the ATR72 aircraft based on Gagan on April 27, 2022. The aircraft successfully landed at Kishangarh Airport in Rajasthan using Gagan. Gagan is very useful for landing at small airports. It is possible to make an easy landing by air, especially at airports that do not have an instrumental landing system.
