The Government of India has banned 16 YouTube channels that pose a threat to national security. The decision was made because of misinformation about national security and integrity. Six of the banned channels are from Pakistan. The Central Broadcasting Department has blocked the Facebook account along with the YouTube channels.
YouTube channels, which have recently joined the banned list, have a record 68 crore subscribers. The Central Broadcasting Department has found that these channels, which have a large subscriber base, are doing the same thing, spreading false information on Indian foreign policy, internal affairs, and national integrity. This led to a ban on them.
