Saudi Arabia, which has been ignoring US rhetoric and President Biden's warnings in the wake of the Ukraine war, has now resorted to another provocation. He held direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on oil market affairs.
In the current crisis situation, the two countries have reached an agreement to stabilize the global oil market. To this end, the Kremlin said in a statement that it would continue to coordinate with the OPECPlus production group. This is the second time that Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have spoken directly on the phone since the start of Russian military operations in Ukraine.
Earlier, in the wake of the oil crisis in Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, and other major Gulf states resisted the US calls for an increase in oil production. However, the Saudi Crown Prince, who held a series of talks with Putin on Saturday and Friday with Chinese President Xi Jinping, promised to try to control the oil market.
Saudi officials said in a statement that Saudi-Russian talks were underway, including bilateral agreements to curb oil prices and the United States.
