Infosys' contemptuous tone .. far from negotiating with the Center

The regulation imposed by Infosys that resigned employees should not work for a year in competing companies is becoming a whirlwind. The unions and Infosys management have not given up on the controversy. The controversy was further exacerbated when Infosys' absence from a meeting was convened by the Union Ministry of Labor on April 28, 2022 to finally resolve disputes between Infosys employees and the company.

Leading tech giant Infosys employees' union has filed a complaint with the Nascent IT Employees Senate (NITES) center alleging breaches of labor laws. The Union Ministry of Labor has issued notices to Infosys to discuss the condition that resigned employees should not rejoin another company for a year. According to this, on April 28, 2022, the Ministry of Labor, the unions, and the management of Infosys is to discuss. But Infosys representatives said they could not attend the meeting. Infosys did not respond to a request for comment, at least on Zoom. With this, the Department of Labor has set a new date of May 16 to discuss the matter again.

Infosys, one of the leading IT companies in the country, does not seem to be backing down on its decision. On the other hand, employees say that Infosys is calling for their natural rights. With this, the controversy deepens. It has been argued that more companies like Infosys will not protect workers and employees if they make such a decision. On the other hand, there are growing doubts about how corporate companies will react if government intervention increases. It remains to be seen what turn this controversy will take after May 16, 2022.
