New Delhi: Several global tech giants are facing summons for allegedly acting in a way that suppresses competition. The decision was taken by a parliamentary committee on Thursday. Summons will be issued to Versace Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc. So it seems that the competitive policies of the respective companies will be examined. The next meeting of the parliamentary committee on these issues is likely to be held on the 12th of next month. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic Affairs has thoroughly discussed allegations that several tech giants are adopting anti-competitive practices.

And then reported these matters to the Competition Commission (CCI). The CCI said it had set up a digital marketplace and data unit to respond appropriately to competition mitigation practices. The CCI has said it will bring in a new bill to amend the law to take anti-competitive action against global tech giants. It also revealed that it has undertaken several types of research in the digital sector. The list includes Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, Apple, Amazon, Flipkart, MakeMyTrip-Goibibo, Swiggy, and Zomato.
